Is Your Energy Blessing Or Cursing What You Desire?
Have you ever felt that strong desire for something that you wanted, and then a thought pops in your head and tells you that it’s not possible for you?
I think we’re all guilty of that, and often it’s the things we most desire that we try to talk ourselves out of. Not because we don’t want them, or we don’t think we can do it, but because we’re instinctively protecting ourselves from pain and suffering.
But what if we didn’t have to? What if there was a way to hold that desire and energise it?
Energy Moves Quickly
That voice in our head, talking us out of it, is a survival instinct.
Notice how quickly your energy shifts when that happens. From the openness of excitement and joy to a quick and deflating sense of hopelessness and heaviness when we tell ourselves it’s not possible.
In a moment, our survival brain kicks in and talks us out of it, and as soon as we buy into that, our energy drops to match it.
But the joy and excitement of the desire also happened quickly too.
Each moment, we get the choice to latch onto the desire and stay with that energy or let the negative energy take over us. And we can’t always help it, but we can move back to the joy as soon as we choose to.
Hold Onto The Desire
We can go our whole lives believing our mind and our conditioning. Or we can start to train ourselves to hold onto the desire, that initial excited energy, and let our mind have its say (it’s going to anyway, we may as well accept that) and then keep moving forward anyway.
The first step is to recognise what your energy is expressing.
When this happens we can simply do the following:
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath.
And feel into your body.
See what she’s trying to tell you.
See where she takes you.
If you notice a bubbling in your tummy, go there. If you notice a pain in your neck, go there.
Sit with that feeling, send it all your love and give it all the time and space it needs. Let it know you can sit here all day, as long as it needs. You may all of a sudden be taken to a childhood memory or a time when things were challenging. Notice what your body is trying to tell you.
Those feelings are emotions, trapped in your cellular memory for a reason. Your body wants you to recognise this pattern.
Repeating Patterns
Do you ever find yourself saying, oh my gosh, how have I done that again?
Repeating patterns over and over means that we haven’t healed or recognised the underlying emotion or belief system and that we will keep experiencing it until we get the message. We may need to experience this issue again and again to learn a deeper karmic lesson even.
Or perhaps..
You have learnt everything you need to know and now is the perfect time to complete that pattern for the last time and say NO MORE.
Time and your body will reveal all. It’s up to us to have the curiosity to explore what’s going on and what we’re being called to learn.
Is it A Blessing Or A Curse?
We don’t get a choice in what happens to us but we do get the chance to make a decision in every moment. When something happens, when we repeat a mistake we’ve made, when we recognise a desire that we really, truly want to see realised in the world.
We get a choice.
We can believe our mind when it tells us it’s not possible for us.
We can curse the hand we’ve been dealt, the misfortune, the terrible timing.
We can come up with all the reasons something isn’t going to work.
Or we can see the blessing, the lesson, the gratitude, the possibilities available to us.
It’s up to us to ask the question. It’s up to us to choose what we want to energise.
When you strongly desire a particular thing ask yourself this simple question...
Am I blessing our cursing this?
