Help your body eliminate toxins by introducing Tongue Scraping into your daily oral care.

After all, digestion begins in your mouth.

The moment you eat something, your mouth sends signals to your stomach to let it know it's time to digest.

If your taste buds are coated, your tongue receptors won't know what you’re eating.

Without the correct signals, your body won’t secrete the right digestive enzymes necessary to break down the food.

Tongue scraping helps to remove the toxins that block your tongue receptors, which improve your ability to taste food and ultimately improve your digestion.

Have you ever wondered why you have the desire to keep eating even though you feel full?

It’s because the signals between your tongue, stomach and brain are not functioning how they should. You can improve this by removing the coating on your tongue that’s interfering with that connection.

This not only builds up after each meal but also while you sleep, perhaps you've woken up and noticed that white layer of coating, that's called ama.

Research has shown that tongue scrapers remove 30 percent more volatile sulfur compounds on the tongue than a toothbrush.

For only an extra couple of minutes a day, the benefits definitely outweigh the effort.

How to use a Tongue Scraper

Metal+tongue+scraper.jpg

There are many different tongue scrapers on the market consisting of copper, plastic and stainless steel.  I myself prefer stainless steel, but this comes down to person preference.

Please be sure to check the surface of your scraper regularly to make sure it doesn’t have any rough edges.

You should be mindful of how much pressure you apply. You want to be gentle enough to avoid harming your taste buds or breaking the skin, but firm enough to remove the toxicity. If you’re unsure of the pressure, start soft and gently increase.

Scrape your tongue from the back to front in long strokes around 10 times over the entire surface of your tongue.

Rinse your mouth and the tongue scraper thoroughly afterwards with warm water.

For even better results, follow with Oil Pulling.
